I have been active in trucking and shipping since first signing on at the age of 15. Since then I have been involved in all aspects of the job, and still enjoy the variety, the competitiveness, and the satisfaction of bringing together the right people and equipment to meet the many demands of this challenging industry.
I am a Director of several other companies, I also play an active part within industry/employer associations.

I was involved in the shipping industry for all 40 years of my working life and enjoyed every moment - the meeting of people from all over the world - the camaraderie that exists in the industry - the 24/7 (which I’ve been able to avoid since retiring from executive duties in September 2007) - and the difference that this industry seems to be - I was fortunate to serve for 19 consecutive years on the National Shipping Agents Assn executive.

I have been involved in Transport and shipping for all my working life. I spent 10 years in the merchant navy as a ship’s officer. When I “came ashore” I worked in ship planning and operations before joining the road transport industry in 1980. I enjoy this industry because no two days are the same, and I also enjoy the “can do” attitude of the majority of people involved in the industry. I am a director of several companies around New Zealand.
