Operator Rating System (ORS)
NZ Transport Agency’s new Operator Rating System is a system that aims to provide a fair and accurate indication of both the safety of an operator's fleet and the operator's compliance with land transport safety legislation.
ORS will let operators know how well they're complying with legislation, help customers find and support operators that have good safety records and allow the NZTA to target regulatory activities where they are most needed.
The safety related events are based on the following and each weighted according to severity:
• certificate of fitness inspection (COFs)
• roadside inspections
• relevant traffic offences since July 1 2010.
What does the rating mean?
5 stars indicate an excellent level of compliance
4 stars indicate a good level of compliance
3 stars indicate an average level of compliance*
2 stars indicate a below average level of compliance
1 star indicates a poor level of compliance
